Closet Praying

Day 87 March 28, 2014
SOLITUDE

But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. -Matthew 6:6

“Solitude begins with a time and a place for God, and God alone. If we really believe not only that God exists but also that God is actively present in our lives– healing, teaching and guiding– we need to set aside a time and space to give God our undivided attention.”―Henri J.M. Nouwen

God settles the solitary in a home; he leads out the prisoners to prosperity… -Psalm 68:6

“The whole value of solitude depends upon one’s self; it may be a sanctuary or a prison, a haven of repose or a place of punishment, a heaven or a hell, as we ourselves make it.” -John Lubbock
