Blossom As The Rose

Day 345 December 13, 2013

The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.  It shall blossom abundantly , and rejoice even with joy and singing…”  -Isaiah 35:1,2

Lo How a Rose E'er Blooming

Lo How a Rose E’er Blooming

“Only work with the objects that are already on a table or desk near you today.” -from 365 A Daily Creativity Journal by Noah Scalin

Lo, how a Rose e’er blooming from tender stem hath sprung!
Of Jesse’s lineage coming, as men of old have sung.
It came, a floweret bright, amid the cold of winter,
When half spent was the night.

Isaiah ’twas foretold it, the Rose I have in mind;
With Mary we behold it, the virgin mother kind.
To show God’s love aright, she bore to men a Savior,
When half spent was the night.

This Flower, whose fragrance tender with sweetness fills the air,
Dispels with glorious splendor the darkness everywhere;
True Man, yet very God, from sin and death He saves us,
And lightens every load.

“What a lovely thing a rose is!…It’s smell and its color are an embellishment of life, not a condition of it. It is only Goodness which gives extras, and so I say again that we have much to hope from the flowers.” ― Arthur Conan Doyle,
