As the Deer

Day 279  October 8, 2013

“What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others.”  -Pericles

As The Deer

“As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.” Psalm 42:1

“Be monumental.  Make a monument to a mundane event, place, or person.  Create a design for it or actually build it…”  -from 365 A Daily Creativity Journal by Noah Scalin

As The Deer Panteth For The Water
So my soul longeth after Thee
You alone are my heart’s desire
And I long to worship Thee

Chorus

You alone are my strength, my shield
To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my heart’s desire
And I long to worship Thee

You’re my friend and You are my brother
Even though You are a king
And I love You more than any other
So much more than anything

I want You more than gold or silver
Only You can satisfy
You alone are the real joy giver
And the apple of my eye.

“I’ve never seen a monument erected to a pessimist.”  -Paul Harvey

“Mountains are earth’s undecaying monuments.”  -Nathaniel Hawthorne
