“Make something that will decay over time and document it until it’s gone (or too smelly to keep).”  -from 365 A Daily Creativity Journal by Noah Scalin

About 365MissionalPractice

Love God, Love Christ, Love Others. I am passionate about creating Missional Relationships that encourage disciples to personify Christ's message. As a minister in a Community of Christ congregation in Virginia I am learning everyday what it means to be vulnerable, to risk, to experiment, to share in a world that needs the redemptive healing of Christ. What material is it that is decaying? And how long did it take to decay?

Thanks for asking, Phillip! The artwork is suggesting that as we work to bring God’s kingdom on earth poverty will be abolished. I used paper and cut away pieces of the word POVERTY to reveal the scripture in the background. It is the part of the “Lord’s Prayer” that says “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is done in heaven.” Actually working to decay poverty is a much bigger task than snipping away at paper.
Hopefully, though, the post will be inspirational to work toward that goal.
