Humble Service

Day 79  March 21, 2013

John 13: 5 Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was tied around him. 6 He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?”

We come nearest to the great when we are great in humility.  –Rabindranath Tagore

O Lord, may we be as Christ, willing to kneel in humble service.  In gentle and tender compassion may we wash away the wounds we have inflicted on one another.  May we become the loving hands of the servant, Christ Jesus.  Amen
