Salted With Fire

Day 66   March 7, 2013

Mark 9:49,50  “For everyone will be salted with fire.  Salt is good; but if salt has lost its saltiness, how can you season it?  Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another.”

Salted With Fire

“Go grocery shopping and pick up something new specifically to work with…”  -from 365 A Daily Creativity Journal by Noah Scalin  (I am trying Sea Salt in some of my old recipes, but here I used it along with food coloring to make “fire”.)

“The cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears or the sea.”  Isak Dinesen

“Salt is the only rock directly consumed by man. It corrodes but preserves, desiccates but is wrested from the water. It has fascinated man for thousands of years not only as a substance he prized and was willing to labour to obtain, but also as a generator of poetic and of mythic meaning. The contradictions it embodies only intensify its power and its links with experience of the sacred.” ~Margaret Visser

“Neither sugar nor salt tastes particularly good by itself. Each is at its best when used to season other things.  Love is the same way.  Use it to “season” people.” ― Vera Nazarian, The Perpetual Calendar of Inspiration
