Mission – Timeless

My Father's Pen and Writing

My Father’s Pen and Writing

“Use pens as your material/inspiration today…”  -from 365 A Daily Creativity Journal by Noah Scalin

My father was a minister for more than sixty years.  Christ was his mission.  After he died I was given the briefcase he carried to church every Sunday.  In it were all kinds of papers but the ones I was drawn to were the hand written notes…words put down on paper….his thoughts for a sermon or prayer service or for congregational needs.  When I read the words on the pages in this picture I realized how timeless the message of mission is.  My father wrote about it decades ago.  I write about it now.  Jesus’ disciples wrote about it thousands of years ago. The Good News is eternal.  The call to mission…timeless.

“Once we discover how to appreciate the timeless values in our daily experiences, we can enjoy the best things in life.”  Jerome K. Jerome

About 365MissionalPractice

Love God, Love Christ, Love Others. I am passionate about creating Missional Relationships that encourage disciples to personify Christ's message. As a minister in a Community of Christ congregation in Virginia I am learning everyday what it means to be vulnerable, to risk, to experiment, to share in a world that needs the redemptive healing of Christ.
