Discerning Mission

Day 17 -January 17, 2013

Discernment

Discernment

“Make something inspired by and/or that goes over an eye…” from 365 A Daily Creativity Journal by Noah Scalin

I have many pairs of glasses.  Some help me see to read. Another pair is for computer work and still another is the pair I use for playing the piano…and a couple more are no longer good for much of anything because my eyesight has changed.  Gathered together, they fell on my desk to create a hodgepodge of frames and glass.  But I noticed the light and shadows cast around the pile of glasses.  A picture of discernment…many lenses by which we are able to see clearly the various paths for mission.

“Meditation is the soul’s perspective glass, whereby, in her long removes, she discerneth God, as if he were nearer at hand.” -Owen Feltham

About 365MissionalPractice

Love God, Love Christ, Love Others. I am passionate about creating Missional Relationships that encourage disciples to personify Christ's message. As a minister in a Community of Christ congregation in Virginia I am learning everyday what it means to be vulnerable, to risk, to experiment, to share in a world that needs the redemptive healing of Christ.
